The zazen mission

We are a social business enterprise with a purpose—to ensure children have access to the very best quality water, every day, for free, in their classrooms.

We founded zazen Water in 2008 because there was no initiative dedicated to improving water wellness and hydration for Australian children. This meant their health and longevity was at risk from our increasingly toxic environment, water quality and food additives.

At zazen, we believe in a simple yet powerful truth: hydrated children thrive. Drinking clean, fresh, great-tasting alkaline water regularly, enhances their focus, mood, and overall well-being. In turn, this helps them learn, grow, and achieve their full potential.

This is our mission. This is our cause. Because every child deserves the best start in life—and it begins with the quality of water they drink, every day!

Why hydration matters for kids

Children lose water throughout the day just by breathing, sweating, and going to the bathroom. This can add up to several cups of water daily, and if they don’t drink enough to replace it, dehydration can set in—affecting their energy, focus, and overall well-being.

Unlike adults, children’s bodies don’t store extra water, so they rely entirely on their daily intake to stay hydrated. Even mild dehydration can impact memory, concentration and mood, making it harder for them to learn and thrive.

Water Ambassador School Program - Our Social Cause

The purpose of the zazen Water Ambassador School Gifting Program is to give primary school children free access to high quality, great tasting water via a zazen Alkaline Water System in their classroom.

Our mission is to educate children on the importance of hydration and help them develop lifelong healthy water wellness habits.

This program is 100% funded by our business at no cost to schools or parents - we do not advertise or promote our products in schools and all filter replacements are sent on-time and free.

To date, we have donated over $650,000 to the program, supporting 46 primary schools and growing.
