How can we help?

zazen Alkaline Water System FAQs

Does the zazen system remove fluoride?

The zazen Alkaline Water system has been designed to selectively remove and reduce chlorine, fluoride, bacteria, heavy metals and many of the harmful toxins in our drinking water – whilst retaining the beneficial minerals critical for life and proper hydration.

The zazen Alkaline Water system emulates Mother Nature’s natural water cycle which includes filtration and then the rebalancing of water with life giving beneficial minerals and energy.

With regard to Fluoride, independent tests have shown the zazen Multi-Stage Filter Cartridge naturally removes up to 90% of the fluoride. As with any natural filtration system, reduction will reduce with volume of water through the filter, so it is critical that the zazen Filter Cartridge is replaced as recommended every 6 months at a maximum, 4 months for a large household, office or clinic.

How often do I need to replace the parts?

Your zazen Alkaline Water system has 5 different parts that need to be replaced at specific times:

Multi-Stage Filter Cartridge
Every 6 months (if using more than 12 litres per day, you should replace sooner)
Ceramic Filter
Every 12 months (if you use tank/bore water, you may need to change it every 6 months depending on how well you pre-filter your tank water)
Silver Stones (red/brown)
Every 12 months
Alkalinity & Anti-Oxidant Enhancer
Every 12 months
Mineral Stones (blue/grey)
Every 5 years

Where is the zazen Alkaline Water system made?

The zazen Alkaline Water system is designed in collaboration with leading water scientists in Japan and Korea, for peak cellular hydration and performance and is manufactured exclusively for zazen Water (to our exacting specification) in South Korea.

  • zazen Water sources the highest quality BPA (bisphenol-A) and Phthalate free parts including all seals.
  • The natural mineral stones are mined 400m below the earth in pristine conditions off the coast of South Korea without damage to our fragile environment.
  • The filtration media is specified by us and sourced directly by zazen from best in class providers from around the world including the USA.
  • NO part of the zazen Alkaline Water System is produced in China (like many products that look similar but are much cheaper online)

The zazen Alkaline Water system is designed for Australian water, as a commitment to providing the highest quality alkaline mineral possible. zazen Water has over the past 11 years improved and enhanced the Multi-Stage Filter 4 times as Australian Water has deteriorated in quality, at no additional price increase!

Our commitment to our customers is that we will continue to innovate and provide the best possible filtration and remineralisation system for you and your family.

Are the plastics in zazen products safe?

Yes, all zazen Alkaline Water system tanks, seals, the tap and parts (Filter Cartridge housing etc.) are BPA (Bi-Sphenol A) and Phthalate free.

Hungry Water versus Balanced Water is the Key!

One of the key principals and purpose of the zazen Alkaline Water System's 10 Stage State-of-the-Art micro filtration process is to rebalance, re-mineralise (with a balanced range of alkaline minerals) and restructure your drinking water into an ideal state for hydration. This means that the water is in a “balanced state” and “not hungry”.

  • If water is “hungry” e.g. acidic (low pH below 7.0) or lacking in alkaline minerals (water created using reverse osmosis technology), it will always seek to rebalance itself – just as our body keeps our blood in pH (7.369) balance.
  • This rebalancing process means that hungry “unbalanced water” kept in unsafe plastic containers will leach whatever it comes into contact with including the chemicals from the plastic in an attempt to rebalance itself.
  • Most bottled water is acidic (hungry!) – many we have tested have a pH of 5.5.

The zazen Alkaline Water System 10 Stage State-of-the-Art process ensures that if the water entering the zazen Bottom Tank is in a “hungry state” – it will actually be sitting in a natural healthy environment supporting the water, allowing it to rebalance itself “naturally” and healthily.

  • The zazen Bottom Tank has 1kg of natural alkaline mineral stones in it.
  • These unique and pristine natural mineral stones enable water as its first preference, to take up alkaline minerals from the natural stones.
  • In this balanced state it is “not hungry” and will not seek to draw anything more from anywhere else.

Creating water naturally in a balanced state is the most critical aspect of the zazen Water process ensuring healthy hydrating water, that tastes delicious!

What water standards does the zazen Alkaline Water System meet?

The zazen Alkaline Water System meets the following Australian, NZ and global Water Standards:

  • AS / NZ 4348 – (Live Giardia & Cysts)
  • ANS / NSF 42 / 53 – (Chloramine, Odours, MTBE, PCB, Lead, Mercury, Turbidity, VOC)
  • NSF 42 – (Class 1 Particulate Reduction – Ecoli; Cryptosporidium; Colon Bacillus, Cyst, Live Giardia etc.)
  • NSF / AN58 – (Arsenic Reduction)

zazen Water is a member of the Water Quality Association USA – the Mark of a Professional, through its membership to WQA, zazen Water Australia has agreed to an industry Code of Ethics and has access to the most up-to-date information available.  zazen Water has been a member since 2012.

As a member we have access to State of the Art Technology, Technical Services, Industry Trends & Statistical Data, Research & Development, Educational Text Books & Continuing Education & Product Certifications and more.

zazen Water ensure the highest level of media in all products and ensure that the media and the zazen Water System and Shower Filter products meet or exceed NSF published standards. The key water certifying body is NSF.org USA.

zazen Water have not certified the zazen Water System specifically with the WQA – we are a member of this organisation. However, we ensure that all our media meet or exceed NSF standards as defined by the NSF for drinking water.

What are the dimensions of the zazen Alkaline Water System?

Top Tank: 4 litre capacity
Glass & BPA-Free Bottom Tanks: 8 litre capacity (once bottom tank is full, do not add water to the top tank)
Base: 315mm diameter
Height: with BPA-Free Plastic Bottom Tank 560mm (including base)
Height: with Glass Bottom Tank 530mm (including base)
Base only height: 140mm

If my tap water is alkaline, do I need your system?

Yes, many metropolitan water supplies across Australia can be alkaline but that does not mean it is good for you. This goes to the very essence of what zazen Alkaline Water aims to remedy, and is an important question to answer.

Part of the zazen Water mission is to educate on the impact of alkalinity and to qualify the belief that more alkaline is always good. It is not quite that simple. Let us first understand how some Australian water supplies can become alkaline, and then we will tackle why this is not ideal, and how zazen Water works with this and consistently delivers water that hydrates at a cellular level.

If I purchase a zazen Water System plus Glass Bottom Tank, do I still get the BPA-Free Plastic Bottom Tank?

Yes, you will still get the BPA-Free Plastic Bottom Tank as well. This gives you a lighter weight option for those customers who like to pack up their system and travel with it on holidays, as well as a spare tank should you accidentally drop the glass tank!

Water System Replacement Parts FAQs

How will I know when I am due to replace my parts?

We record your system or shower filter purchase and all your replacement parts purchased on our Customer Service System, so we always know exactly when your parts need replacing. We will remind you via email (or text if you prefer), with an option to click on a special order link or you can call us to place an order. If you have purchased your zazen Alkaline Water System or zazen Shower Filter from one of our Resellers, you may not be on our database – click here to complete our Product Warranty Registration form.

Can I recycle my old filters and stones?

When it's time to replace your zazen filters and stones, your old filters and stones can be recycled as follows:

  • Multi-Stage Filter Cartridge – over time this filter traps toxins, chemicals, poisons, heavy metals and other contaminants in its layers as it filters your water. We recommend that you DO NOT RECYCLE this filter – put it in a plastic bag, tie it and put in your rubbish bin.
  • Ceramic Filter – 100% recyclable so this filter can be put in your recycling bin as it is just made of ceramic and a plastic base
  • Silver Stones, Alkalinity Enhancer balls & Mineral Stones – these can just be used in the garden as rocks
  • Shower Filter & Streamline Filter Cartridges - 100% recyclable as the filtration media is different to the Filter Cartridge.
  • Cardboard/paper packaging – dispose of in your recycling bin
Why do I need to replace the Filter Cartridge regularly?

To ensure the very best quality water for your health and wellness benefit, it is important to change your filters and stones on time.

  • Multi-Stage Filter Cartridge - once placed in your zazen Water system, the Filter Cartridge has a maximum life of 6 months, regardless of the volume of water filtered (If you have a large family, or busy office/clinic, using over 12 litres / day, you may need to change your filter cartridge sooner). If not replaced on time, the acidic contaminants in your source water will affect the ability of the system to produce healthy alkaline water.
For effective fluoride reduction of up to 90%, it is very important to change the this filter every 6 months at a maximum.

When you should change the other components in your zazen Alkaline Water System:

  • Ceramic Filter - this filter deteriorates over time with use and cleaning and should be replaced every 12 months. It plays a critical role in pre-filtering large contaminants (greater than 0.2 micron) from your water, such as bacteria, ecoli, giardia and other organic matter, so they do not clog up the Filter Cartridge, impacting its ability to do its heavy metal and fluoride filtering at an effective level.
  • Silver Stones - conserve the freshness and health of the water in the bottom tank due to their anti-bacterial properties and should be replaced every 12 months.
  • Alkalinity Enhancer - these little white balls help boost the pH of the water due to the ionised magnesium and calcium being released into the water and should be replaced every 12 months.
  • Mineral Stones - these stones contain a balanced range of natural minerals including calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium and silicon which help to balance, fortify and assist with the pH and increases the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water. They shouold be replaced every 5 years.

All 5 components work synergistically together to provide you with healthy alkaline mineral water.

zazen Alkaline Water System Maintenance FAQs

My zazen Water system is leaking. What do I need to do?

There are only 4 ways your system will leak and they are easily fixed as follows:

  1. Overfilling – The bottom tank holds 8 litres of water ONLY. You cannot fill the upper tank if the bottom tank is already full, otherwise water will overspill between the 2 tanks.
  2. The Multi-Stage Filter Cartridge is overflowing – If the water seems to be flowing out of your top tank faster than the Filter Cartridge in the bottom tank can filter it through, there may be some air bubbles in your Filter Cartridge. You will need to take off the top tank, remove the Filter Cartridge and complete the following steps:
    • Fill a 2 litre jug or similar with clean cold water.
    • Submerge the Multi-Stage Filter Cartridge fully for 1 minute or until the air bubbles have stopped coming out of the filter.
    • Take the filter out of the jug and hold over the sink.
    • Pour about 2.5 litres of clean cold water slowly through the top of the filter. Make sure the water starts to run out the bottom. Knock the filter firmly against your hand several times during this rinse cycle to help clear any air bubbles, then continue to pour water through the filter.
    • You may now screw your Filter Cartridge back into the Cartridge Connector and place back into the System.
  3. There is an Alkalinity & Anti-Oxidant Enhancer (AAE) (or a few) stuck inside your tap This can happen if the system has been moved and caused the AAE’s to be sitting very close to the back of the tap. You will need to drain your system (fill drink bottles, your kettle, water plants etc) so as not to waste water. Undo your tap by unscrewing the magnetic back and taking the tap out of the tank. Give it a shake and a tap and see if any AAE beads come out. If nothing comes out of the tap you will now need to unscrew the band that the silver lever is attached to, turning it anticlockwise while holding the lever in the other hand. The lever will then pop off the tap and you should be able to see any AAE beads lodged within the tap. After you have completed these steps you will need to screw the lever back into the tap, place the tap through the hole in the lower tank with a silicon washer on each side. Screw magnetic back onto tap inside the bottom tank and tighten.
  4. Magnetic Tap has been over tightened – If your system is leaking from around the magnetic tap it means the back of the tap has been over-tightened. This pushes out the silicone washers and they cannot seal the unit around the tap hole. Similarly if the washers are too loose, they may be allowing water to escape. Simply empty the lower tank and take off the top part of the system and check the back of the tap sitting inside the System.
My Ceramic Filter is discoloured, how do I clean it?

Over time due to filtering your drinking water, the Ceramic Filter in the top tank becomes coated with organic matter, rust, sediments, etc that are in your source water, but are too large to pass through the Ceramic Filter.  Depending on your water source, you may need to clean the Ceramic Filter on a regular basis (depending on location, this can vary between weekly and monthly). Do this with a clean wet cloth, gently wiping the ceramic. You can also use a lemon to help whiten the ceramic – NEVER use detergents or other cleaners!

You will know ongoing when you need to clean your Ceramic Filter as your system will slow down when filtering water and water will just sit in the top tank, as it cannot flow through the Ceramic Filter.

I am changing my annual replacement parts, what else should I do?

When you change your Ceramic Filter and Silver Stones each year, it is an ideal time to clean out the inside of the lower tank with a clean cloth and warm water. You can also soak your Mineral Stones for a few minutes in hot water to reinvigorate them – let them cool before placing back in your system. This is shown in the video below.

My water is filtering slowly from the top tank, what do I need to do?

This generally means that the Ceramic Filter in the top tank has become coated with the organic matter, rust, sediments, etc it is filtering from your source water.

You will know ongoing when you need to clean your Ceramic Filter as your system will slow down when filtering water.

Glass Bottom Tank FAQs

I have an existing zazen System, can I purchase the glass tank?

If your existing zazen Water System has a clear plastic top tank, then you can simply replace your existing BPA-Free Plastic bottom tank and middle white plastic rim on the bottom tank with the new Glass Bottom Tank which you can order online.

If your existing zazen Water System has a solid cream colour plastic top tank (this is our original model which was updated in 2010 with the clear top tank model), then you will need to upgrade the system shell completely, however you can use your existing filters, stones and magnetic tap. To order a replacement system shell, please call our office on 1300 78 24 25.

Is the glass tank safer than the plastic tank?

Our BPA-Free Plastic Tank does not leach chemicals into the water sitting in the bottom tank, so from a health perspective both tanks are equally effective.

We have been asked by many customers for a glass tank simply because we know some of you like glass! Just as we like to be able to choose between BPA-Free Plastic and Glass drinking bottles, we offer this option for customers who prefer a glass tank.

Read more in our blog post zazen Glass Bottom Tank or the zazen BPA-Free Plastic Bottom Tank, which one should I get?

Please read our zazen Glass Bottom Tank Handling Guidelines.

Are there special handling instructions for maintaining the Glass Bottom Tank?

Yes. It is important you download and read our zazen Water Glass Tank Handling Guidelines before you purchase a zazen Glass Bottom Tank and please refer to them when emptying, cleaning and filling your glass bottom tank.

Shower Filter FAQs

Which zazen Shower Filter can I use in my shower?

Our shower filters can only be installed if your current shower pipe is wall-mounted (meaning it is coming out of the wall, not from the ceiling of the shower).

Your Current Shower (wall-mounted only):zazen Handset & Raindrop Shower Filters (no longer available for sale)zazen Streamline Shower Filter
Handset with hoseYesYes
Shower head attached to a shower armYesRefer to 2 below
Raindrop with head and arm combinedYesCall us
  1. With the zazen Handset Shower Filter, if you already have a similar type of shower system then you can use just the zazen Handset Showerhead (the filter is inside this) with your existing set up. Or you can change everything as the Handset product comes complete with hose, wall mount and showerhead (with filter inside).
  2. When installing the Streamline Shower Filter with an existing wall mount shower arm, this is the type that will fit the streamline:

    • Important - If your current shower arm is too short or is long and skinny, the streamline will not screw onto these pipes.
    • You can purchase a fixed pipe extension piece (we recommend this product availale at Bunnings)
  3. If you need to purchase a shower head to go wtih the Streamline Shower Filter, we recommend this product from Bunnings.
How often do I need to change the filter in the zazen Shower Filters?
  • For the Handset & Raindrop Shower Filters - the Shower Filter Cartridge has a maximum 12 month life*, regardless of volume of water filtered (however, for high use of >16 minutes showering per day, it should be replaced sooner).
  • For the Streamline Shower Filter - the Streamline Filter Cartridge has a maximum 24 month life*, regardless of volume of water filtered (however, for high use of >16 minutes showering per day, it should be replaced sooner).

*This is dependent on water quality which may impact the life of the filter.
If the filters are not replaced on time, the ability of your shower filter to effectively remove chlorine, particulates and heavy metals will be impacted and can cause damage to the shower filter housing voiding any warranty.

Chlorine is vapourised when heated. As you shower, you inhale and absorb these vapours through your lungs and skin so these chemicals go directly into your blood stream! Recent studies link excessive chlorine and chlorine vapour exposure to breast, kidney (renal) and bladder cancers. It can also cause dry irritated skin, acne and hair damage.

What is the cost of the Shower Filter Replacement Cartridges?

Enjoy a healthier shower experience at only 3-5 cents per shower!

CodeFilter Life*RRPCost per Shower
Streamline Filter Cartridge (fits Streamline Shower Filter)50424 months$119.953 cents
Shower Filter Cartridge (fits Handset & Raindrop Shower Filters)50712 months$59.955 cents

  • *This is dependent on water quality which may impact the life of the fliter.
  • Cost per shower is based on a 4 minute shower @ 9 litres of water per minute.
  • Note: The Handset, Raindrop and Compact Shower Filters are no longer for sale. If you have previously purchased one of these Shower Filters you can still purchase your replacement zazen Shower Filter Cartridge
Do your Shower Filters reduce Copper?

Yes, the zazen shower filter media, which is 100% recyclable does filter out heavy metals such as copper (over 99%) and other heavy metals such as lead and mercury at the same rate!

What happens is as the heavy metal, such as copper, comes in contact with our shower filter media, a reaction occurs and the heavy metal "attaches" to the filter media’s surface (think of something sticking to a plate) thus being effectively removed from your shower water. The zazen Shower Filter media attracts both soluble and insoluble heavy metals.

This is also a reason why you must change your shower filter cartridge annually as the Filter Cartridge media will become more dense and compacted affecting the flow rate of water through it. zazen Water will of course remind you to do this proactively through our Customer Reminder Service (CRS).

Is Fluoride removed by the zazen Shower Filters?

Did you know – When water is heated and fast flowing as is the case in a shower, some of the chemicals in the water DO NOT turn to vapour in your shower!

Fluoride as an example has an extremely HIGH boiling point of 1695 degrees celcius unlike Chlorine. Therefore inhalation of Fluoride is not a concern in this environment compared to Chlorine.

The reduction of up to 99% of water-soluble lead, mercury, nickel, chromium, and other dissolved metals are effective in the zazen Shower Filters; however the reduction of fluoride using any shower filter media is not possible, or necessary, with today’s technologies.

Do zazen Shower Filters work the same way as my zazen Alkaline Water system?

The purpose of the zazen Alkaline Water system is to create a drinking water that is optimised for hydration – a water that has all of the key properties required to support peak cellular performance. Healthy drinking water that is structured, alkaline, mineral rich and tastes great!

The purpose of the zazen Shower Filter is to create a healthier showering environment, reducing chemical exposure specifically to Chlorine which when heated is inhaled directly into the lungs and the bloodstream with many documented health risks.

  • Up to 99% of Chlorine is removed from your shower water by the zazen Shower Filter range.
  • This means that the Chlorine will not vaporise making the shower environment much healthier.

Chlorine is a major concern when showering! It has a low boiling point (- 34C) and chlorine vapour is absorbed directly into the lungs and the blood stream! Did you know – Hot water in the home is heated at 55 to 70 degrees on average. Therefore Chlorine evaporates readily in your shower hot water in a high concentration and inhalation of this gas has documented health risks.

Can I recycle my shower filter cartridges?

Yes – the zazen filtration media is green – 100% recyclable and contains no chemical additives. Hospitals also rely on the same media to safely reduce or remove free chlorine, iron oxides and hydrogen sulfide.

Will the shower filter reduce my water pressure?

Not really, however this will also depend on a couple of things and which zazen Shower Filter you install.

  • If you have an instant Gas Hot Water System, refer to the question below.

If you install the zazen Streamline Shower filter – there will be no change to your water pressure, however if your water pressure reduces after time, this indicates it is time to replace your filter cartridge (as the cartridge will become full and clog and water flow will reduce).

If you have installed either the zazen Handset or Raindrop Shower Filters all are supplied to comply with and are rated WELS 9L/minute water saving Shower Heads so your water pressure is determined by:

  • If you have replaced your showerhead within the last few years, you probably have a water saving showerhead already which usually uses no more than 9 – 15 LPM (litres per minute).  In this case, there would be NO water pressure difference.
  • If your shower has an “older” showerhead, it may be flowing at a higher water pressure, in which case the filter and showerhead will reduce the pressure to comply with the WELS rating of 9L per minutes.
Can I use the Shower Filters if I have an Instant Gas Hot Water System?

No, the zazen Shower Filters are not compatible with Instant Gas Hot Water Systems as they can cause the water to run hot and cold through the showerhead at any one time.

What if my hot water temperature is greater than the rated 4 - 48.9C?

The optimum shower "filtration" effectiveness range for hot water passing through the zazen Shower Filter is 4 – 48.9 degrees celcius.

What this means is that the filter will perform as specified within this temperature range e.g. 99% chlorine reduction etc.

A reduction in the filtration capacity will occur above or below these temperatures.

The actual water temperature when taking a shower (a mix of hot and cold water – not just the hot water temperature) will vary depending on personal preference; however hotter showers will average between 40 – 45 degrees celcius, which is well within the optimum reduction / filtration range of the zazen Shower Filter.

Did you know – At 48.9 degrees celcius water is close to scolding!

Shower Filter Installation FAQs

Does the zazen Shower Filter Range work with international fittings?

The zazen Water Shower Filter Range is designed for Australian and New Zealand plumbing standards, we do not warrant the products to be fit for use outside of Australia and New Zealand and therefore are unable to extend any warranty on these products outside of Australia and New Zealand.

How can I work out how much water my current showerhead uses per minute?
  • Simply place a bucket (a 10 litre bucket is ideal) under your current showerhead
  • Turn on your shower as if you were to take a shower
  • With a watch ready to time 1 minute – let the water flow for 1 minute.
  • If there is approx. 9 litres in the bucket, your showerhead is already water efficient!
Can I install this filter myself or do I need a plumber to install?

Yes in most cases, installing any of our zazen Shower Filters is a “do-it-yourself” job. It will require a wrench and/or pliers.

If you have a very old showerhead that has been in place a very long time (and probably never removed since it was installed!) or you do not feel comfortable, ask a “handyperson” friend to install the filter with or for you.

Visit the product page for the shower filter you have purchased, and either watch our Installation video or download the Installation Guide for further assistance.

Will the zazen Streamline Shower Filter fit the pipe in my shower?

The zazen Streamline Shower Filter screws onto the existing shower pipe that will be extruding from your shower wall. Refer to question 'Which zazen Shower Filter can I use in my shower?' for details and a picture of the correct pipe size and type.

Note: The zazen Rainfrop and Handset Shower Filters (no longer sold) fit the following Australian standard wall pipe size:

  • 20mm outside diameter
  • 15mm inside diameter

zazen Handset Shower Filter (the shower with the hose attached) or the Compact Shower Filter

  1. Simply unscrew the head at the top of the Shower Filter anti-clockwise.
  2. Remove the existing cartridge – to do this gently push the cartridge to the side and it should lift out of place.
  3. Place the new filter cartridge (after removing any stickers or plastic packaging) inside and lock it into place.
  4. Screw the head of the Shower Filter back on tightly (clockwise) until it is secure.
  5. Run your Shower Filter for 30 seconds to flush it and it is ready to use!

zazen Raindrop Shower Filter

With the zazen Raindrop Shower Filter you will need a screwdriver to disassemble it.

  1. Unscrew the 6 screws in the holes evenly spaced around the showerhead using a screwdriver.

Ceramic Filter FAQs

What are ceramic water filters?

Ceramic water filters are a natural, porous material used within the zazen Alkaline Water System. The intricate network of pores within the ceramic allows water to pass directly through, while trapping and removing impurities like sediment, organic matter, rust, mould & algae spores,.  Filtering down to 0.2 of a micron, the ceramic presents a physical barrier to E.coli & Salmonella, asbestos, microplastics, parasites, bacteria and other potential contaminants in Australian drinking water, offering a fresh and clean water supply.

What are the benefits of using a ceramic water filter?

There are many benefits to using a ceramic water filter, including the following:

  • Built using natural filter media: Ceramic water filters are constructed using natural materials, such as clay and diatomaceous earth. With this kind of filtration system in place, you can be sure that the water you drink is clean and safe without exposure to further inorganic materials.

  • Highly efficient in removing contaminants: The best ceramic water filter designs consist of a series of very fine pores that trap small particles as they pass through, such as heavy metals like lead, parasites, organic material, and other contaminants, making it one of the most efficient types of water purification systems available on the market in Australia today.

  • Long-lasting: To maintain filtration efficacy, you will need to periodically  replace the ceramic water filter (recommended every 12 months, depending on the source water and the amount of use). Fortunately, since they are made of natural materials, each ceramic water filter can be cleaned regularly to maintain its efficacy  for the duration of its life, simply using an abrasive scourer to regularly wipe over the ceramic will maintain the filtration rate for the duration of its life cycle.

  • Better for the environment: at the end of its life, the zazen Water ceramic filter can be recycled.  Unlike many other filtration systems using a pre-filter, the zazen Water ceramic filter is completely recyclable.  Once it has reached the end of its life, simply remove the ceramic filter and dispose in your recycling bin.  If you have a compost in your garden, you can even remove the ceramic from the plastic base and crumble the ceramic into your garden or compost and pop the plastic part into the recycling bin, so simple and no waste.

Improve the taste & smell: With the reduction in contaminants, you will notice an improvement in both taste and flavour when you apply the best ceramic water filter into your system, which can make your water more pleasant to drink and easier to stay hydrated throughout the day.

How do ceramic water filters work?

Ceramic water filters utilise physical filtration to remove contaminants from the water found across Australia by trapping them inside millions of microscopic pores. Within the ceramic water filter,  a selection of protruding angles  further catches and collects particles that may have slipped past the exterior casing, ensuring optimal filtration.

As the unfiltered water passes through the ceramic filter particles like bacteria and protozoa become trapped in the ceramic structure, while the clean, filtered water passes through into the next stage in the zazen filtration process.

What does zazen ceramic filter remove?

A zazen Ceramic Filter is part of  a multi-stage process to remove a variety of unwanted substances from your drinking water. It will initially pre-filter rust, sediment and organic matter, as well as parasites, cysts, bacteria, and other micro-organisms.

Designed to remove and filter out of your drinking water any substances down to 0.2 of a micron – beyond the capacity of the human eye to discern, the zazen Water Ceramic filter is the best solution when comparing to other pre-filters and with its positive environmental qualities, it makes for an easy first choice.
