Unless you have been hiding under a rock for the last few years, you already know that water has a plethora of health benefits. Drinking it helps to slow down signs of ageing, prevent many diseases, and nourish the human body every day. Failing to maintain adequate consumption of clean water can lead to unfavourable symptoms of dehydration, including overwhelming headaches, dizziness, fatigue, and a significant reduction in productivity. 

The human body consists of over 70% water, with even higher amounts in newborns. It is crucial for a variety of bodily functions including just to name a few; food digestion, waste and toxin removal, energy and cell regeneration, transporting of oxygen throughout the body and powering our immune systems.

A variety of health problems can potentially occur when the body is either too alkaline or too acidic. When the body fluids become too acidic, a condition called acidosis develops. Your kidneys and lungs will not be able to regulate the acid levels due to a variety of reasons, causing either respiratory or metabolic acidosis, which can lead to a range of issues including fatigue and drowsiness, headaches, jaundice, and an increased heart rate.

Water ionizers are normally attached to your kitchen tap to treat your regular tap water with an electrical current that ionizes water. The ionized water is alkaline water that contains large amounts of electrically charged hydroxyl ions as well as free electrons. 

With the rise in plastic manufacturing worldwide, there has been an associated rise in plastic pollution in the external environment. As such, we have found microplastic fibres and particles finding their way into our bottled water and tap water supplies.
